What We Do

Our organization executes numerous projects and programs

Enhancing Child Focused Activities (ECFA) is a legally registered Ethiopian civil society organization founded in 2006 and based in Adama City. The organization commenced operations in Adama City.

In 2012, it expanded its service area to encompass four additional Oromia region towns : Assela, Bishoftu, Matahara and Shashemene. In 2024, this expansion continued with the addition of Yabello Town and Dubluk and Moyale weredas. The organization's strategic plan for the 2023-2027 period involves extending its services to 10 districts within five zones of Oromia region. ECFA has strong history of empowering children, girls and young women in Adama and other Oromia towns since 2006. Our work focuses on child protection , preventing gender-based violence , empowering women and promoting economic independence.

Protection of sgbv

Program 1: Protection of children, girls & young women from SGBV

Objective: To reduce considerably SGBV vulnerability of children & youth living in Oromia region by providing confidential reporting access/helpline service that would be accessed by the targets and the community and linked with one-stop centers of Oromia region.

Mitigating online abuse

Program 2: Mitigating Online Abuse of Children

Objective: To protect children from online sexual exploitation & abuse through enhancing the knowledge & awareness’ of children & families on safe utilization of technologies (internet), supporting the existence of cross-sector collaboration that enable coordinated prevention and response to online child sexual exploitation and abuse at regional & national level.

Empowerement

Program 3: Empowerment of girls and young women

Objective: -To increase capabilities of girls & young women living in Oromia region; to have collective voices & equally participate in social, economic and political activities of their society & to pursue education, income generating activities, and other opportunities.

COMMUNITY HEALTH

Program 4: Community health care

Objective : To improve the health of; destitute mothers and children and, sexual & reproductive health of adolescents and youth living in Oromia region in order to lead healthy & decent life.
